Temple of Philae.

Considered as one of the most beautiful Ptolemaic temples and is located on Agilkia Island. It is one of the most famous temples that UNESCO saved from drowning after the construction of the High Dam, which flooded many places with water after its construction.

Philae Temple was located before its rescue on Philae Island, which was drowned after the construction of the High Dam. The name Philae means (beloved) in ancient Greek. The temple was dedicated to the worship of the goddess Isis, the protective goddess, and inside the temple there are some buildings dedicated to the worship of the goddess Hathor, the goddess of music.

The High Dam.

It was built by the Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser that aimed to control the Nile floods that used to come annually and drown many agricultural lands. The High Dam is considered one of the facilities of great benefit because of the control it achieved in the Nile waters, so that Egypt became an agricultural country with different types throughout the year, and it also protected Egypt from the dangers of flooding.

The unfinished obelisk.

It is located in an ancient quarry used by the Pharaohs to extract very hard flint stones to build giant and strong temples that are not affected by the factors of time. There is the obelisk that was not completed due to some technical defects and the impossibility of its use, and it was intended for Queen Hatshepsut. This obelisk was supposed to be in the Karnak Temple, but it was left as it was, giving us a good idea and telling us that the Egyptian obelisks were cut from a single stone block.

After finishing your tour, You will be transferred to your Nile cruise to check in and have your lunch and dinner on board.

Abu Simbel Temples

Abu Simbel temple is an archaeological site located on the western bank of Lake Nasser, about 290 km southwest of Aswan. It is one of the “Nubian Monuments,” a UNESCO World Heritage Site, extending from the river from Abu Simbel to Philae (near Aswan).

The twin temples were originally carved out of the mountains during the reign of King Ramesses II in the 13th century BC, as a permanent monument to him and Queen Nefertari, commemorating his victory at the Battle of Kadesh. However, in 1960, the entire complex was relocated to an artificial hill made of a dome structure, above the reservoir of the Aswan High Dam.

After finishing your visit, You will be transferred back to Aswan and will be dropped off at your Nile Cruise to enjoy your lunch on board.

Enjoy the sailing in the River Nile towards Kom Ombo town to visit the famous temple of God Sobek.

The temple of God Sobek

This temple was built during the reign of Ptolemy VI Philometor, but its decoration was not completed until the Roman era, during the reign of Emperor Tiberius. We also see in this temple the same characteristics that we find in other Ptolemaic Egyptian temples in terms of design, architecture and decoration.

However, this temple has a special feature that resulted from the local worship in the place, as people worshipped two local gods, Sobek and Horus with the falcon head. Despite the difference in origin and character of these two gods, they lived side by side for many centuries without mixing or combining with each other.

After finishing your day tour, You will be transferred back to your Nile Cruise and have your dinner on board.

Day 3Visit om Ombo temple / East Bank Tour

Enjoy your breakfast on board with a great scenery to the River Nile. After breakfast, your tour guide will pick you up from your Nile cruise to visit the temple of Horus in Edfu.

The Temple of Edfu, or the Temple of Horus, is the second largest temple in ancient Egypt, after the Temple of Karnak, located in the city of Edfu in Upper Egypt on the west bank of the Nile. The temple was dedicated to the main god Horus, who was identified as Apollo according to the Greek interpretation. It is one of the best preserved shrines in Egypt.

Valley of the kings

There is the Valley of the Kings, which was the final residence of the great kings who were buried with their valuables, which were unfortunately stolen in successive eras.

The royal tombs still contained many secrets and writings that accompanied the pharaoh on his last journey to the underworld to be sanctified after his death.

The tombs of the Valley of the Kings were decorated with amazing writings and drawings in colors that are still in very good condition.

It contained many rooms that were designated for storing things and tools that the pharaoh would need in eternal life, as well as the burial chamber that was designated for the coffin and mummy of the pharaoh.

Hatshepsut Temple

The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut is located on the outskirts of the Green Valley, behind which lies the Western Desert. The temple was built in the heart of the mountain and consists of three floors, each floor representing a period of Queen Hatshepsut’s rule over Egypt.

The temple was built on the ruins of the temple of King Mentuhotep II the Great, who united the northern and southern parts of the Egyptian kingdom under the rule of one pharaoh.

Current excavations are still revealing many beautiful monuments and tombs, as well as the famous cache found next to this temple, which contained many mummies of the pharaohs of the eighteenth and nineteenth dynasties. This cache was found by the Abdul Rasoul family, famous for excavating antiquities.

Colossi of Memnon

You will meet the famous two huge statues for the pharaoh Amenhotep III in the way to the Valley of the kings.

In this area, there was a great temple belong to this great pharaoh but unfortunately was destroyed because of an earthquake took place in Egypt.
