The temple was dedicated to the worship of the goddess Isis, the protective goddess, and inside the temple there are some buildings dedicated to the worship of the goddess Hathor, the goddess of music.

It was built by the Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser that aimed to control the Nile floods that used to come annually and drown many agricultural lands. The unfinished obelisk.
It is located in an ancient quarry used by the Pharaohs to extract very hard flint stones to build giant and strong temples that are not affected by the factors of time. There is the obelisk that was not completed due to some technical defects and the impossibility of its use, and it was intended for Queen Hatshepsut. This obelisk was supposed to be in the Karnak Temple, but it was left as it was, giving us a good idea and telling us that the Egyptian obelisks were cut from a single stone block.

However, this temple has a special feature that resulted from the local worship in the place, as people worshipped two local gods, Sobek and Horus with the falcon head. Despite the difference in origin and character of these two gods, they lived side by side for many centuries without mixing or combining with each other.
