Itinerary

Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples Day Tour Itinerary

In the early morning, Your tour guide and the driver will pick you up from your hotel in Aswan to travel to the north of Aswan city.

Stop first to visit the temple of Kom Ombo.

People worshipped two local gods, Sobek and the falcon-headed Horus. Despite their differences in origin and character, these two gods coexisted for centuries without ever mixing or associating with each other. Therefore, this temple not only contains two adjacent sanctuaries, but also has doors located side by side on the axis of each of these sanctuaries: on the outer wall, in the walls of the two hypostyle halls, and beyond. Accordingly, the temple is divided into two sections, each dedicated to the worship of one of these two gods.

The walls of this temple are decorated with authentic Egyptian decorations, distinguished by their precision, harmony, and the beautiful balance between the characters in their scenes and the surrounding hieroglyphic inscriptions that complement them.

Next stop will be in Edfu temple.

The Temple of Edfu was one of several temples built during the Ptolemaic Kingdom, including the temple complexes of Dendera, Esna, Kom Ombo, and Philae. Its size reflects the relative prosperity of the time. The present temple, begun on August 23, 237 BC, initially consisted of a hypostyle hall, two transverse halls, and a sanctuary surrounded by small niches. Construction of the temple began during the reign of Ptolemy III Euergetes and was completed in 57 BC under Ptolemy XII the Piper. It was built on the site of an earlier, smaller temple also dedicated to Horus.

After finishing these two temples visit, You will be transferred back to your hotel in Aswan
