Early in the morning, you will be picked up by an A/C van from your hotel in Hurghada at 2:00 AM and will head to Cairo overnight.

The Egyptian Museum in Tahrir

The museum spans two floors and houses 120,000 artifacts from various eras and periods of Egyptian history. The most famous exhibits are the treasures of pharaonic kings and queens, such as the child king Tutankhamun, and the Mummy Room. At the latter, visitors can learn more about the art of mummification in ancient Egypt. The Egyptian Museum of Antiquities is a wonderful place to see all the artifacts that would have been buried in the tombs and pyramids of ancient Egypt, as well as some of the mummified kings themselves.

Lunch Stop: After a wonderful morning exploring some of Luxor’s magnificent temples, we will relax along the Nile at a local restaurant for a delicious lunch with a stunning view of the Nile.

Visit the Pyramids and the Sphinx

Constructed of over 2.3 million granite blocks, each weighing between 25 and 80 tons, it is reputed to be the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one to remain largely intact. Constructed over a period of 20 years, the Great Pyramid originally stood at 146 meters, making it the tallest man-made structure in the world for over 3,800 years.

Next, you can get your first glimpse of the Great Sphinx and its temple. The Great Sphinx of Giza is a mythical creature with a human head and a lion’s body. It stands over 20 meters tall and 73 meters long, and is a magnificent sight to behold.
