We will pick you up from your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh at 10:00 PM and drive approximately two hours to Mount Sinai in a comfortable, modern, air-conditioned bus.
Upon arrival at Mount Sinai, we will begin our nighttime climb to the summit of Mount Sinai, which stands at 2,285 meters and includes approximately 750 steps. This amazing, almost surreal journey is like no other. Follow the torchlight trail along the winding mountain path, stopping along the way at numerous shacks selling warm Egyptian tea, snacks, and cold drinks.
Upon reaching the summit, you will witness a magical sunrise over the mountains and deserts surrounding Mount Sinai. This is a wonderful experience and one of the most beautiful sunrises you will ever witness; you deserve it after this journey!
You will then begin your tour at Saint Catherine’s Monastery. Located on the exact spot where God is said to have appeared to Moses at the Burning Bush, this site is of great significance to the Abrahamic religions and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This is the oldest continuously inhabited Christian monastery in the world, with a history spanning over seventeen centuries. Its origins date back to late antiquity, predating the divisions of the Christian world. Surprisingly, it is still inhabited by the same monks who built it in the fourth century!
After your guided tour of Saint Catherine’s Monastery, you will be transferred to your hotel in Sharm el-Sheikh, where you will arrive in time for lunch.
