The Giza Pyramid Complex

It is an archaeological site in Egypt that includes the Great Pyramid, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, as well as their associated complexes and the Great Sphinx. These monuments were built during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Ancient Egypt between approximately 2600 and 2500 BC. 

The Sphinx

It is a colossal limestone statue carved from limestone, depicting a mythical creature with the head of a human and the body of a lion in a reclining position. The statue faces directly west to east, and is located on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile River in Giza, Egypt. The statue’s facial features are believed to be those of the pharaoh Khafre.

Grand Egyptian Museum GEM

The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) is located a few miles west of Cairo near the Giza Pyramids. It is being built to be the world’s largest archaeological museum, accommodating 5 million visitors annually. In addition to commercial and entertainment buildings, a restoration center, and a museum garden that will be filled with trees known to the ancient Egyptians. Egypt has launched a campaign to finance the project, with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as its main contributor, providing soft loans. The museum is set to house more than 100,000 artifacts from the Pharaonic, Greek and Roman eras, which will give a major boost to Egypt’s tourism sector.
