Enjoy a Luxor tour from Sharm el-Sheikh by plane to see its most famous sights in one day. Visit the Karnak and Luxor Temples on the East Bank and see the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut Temple on the West Bank.
Luxor is often described as the world’s largest open-air museum, but that doesn’t come close to describing this extraordinary place. There is simply no other place that comes close to the grandeur of ancient Thebes.
Come and visit the capital of the New Kingdom pharaohs (1570-1090 BC), which boasts the greatest wealth of ancient archaeological sites in the Nile Valley. The most important sites are divided between the East and West Banks of the Nile.
On the East Bank, the “City of the Living,” we will visit the magnificent Temple of Karnak, and on the West Bank, home to the “City of the Dead,” we will see the Colossus of Memnon, the Valley of the Kings, and the stunning mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Our day from the East Bank to the West Bank will effectively be two great tours in one!

Early in the morning, your tour guide will pick you up at 4:30 AM by A/C van and transfer you to Sharm El-Sheikh Airport for your flight to Luxor, which will take approximately 30 minutes.
Upon arrival at Luxor Airport, your English-speaking guide will meet you and accompany you throughout the day to the most important historical sites, including:
Valley of the Kings
Your journey will begin on the West Bank of Luxor, where the Valley of the Kings is located. This valley, which was home to the magnificent tombs of the pharaohs and nobles of the New Kingdom of Egypt, was built over a period of nearly 500 years, from the 16th to the 11th centuries BC. The valley is one of the most famous archaeological destinations in the world. On our tour of the Valley of the Kings, we will explore these magnificent tombs belonging to ancient kings such as King Tutankhamun and the sons of Ramesses II.
Temple of Hatshepsut (Deir el-Bahari Temple)
After the Valley of the Kings, you will visit the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, also known as the Deir el-Bahari Temple. The architect Senenmut was inspired by the Temple of Mentuhotep and recreated its terraces and porticoes. Your tour guide will explain in detail the history of these magnificent temples, including their historical and architectural significance.
Colossi of Memnon
Before leaving the West Bank, you will see the Colossi of Memnon, hear the story of these two statues, and learn how they stood in the Theban necropolis for the past 3,400 years. You will also have the opportunity to take unforgettable photos there.
Lunch
You will have a delicious lunch at a local restaurant located on the East Bank with a magnificent view of the Nile.
Karnak Temple Complex
After lunch, you will take an afternoon tour of the Karnak Temples, considered the center of the world, where Amun first created himself and then all living things. The complex is a vast open site and includes the Karnak Open Air Museum. It is believed to be the second most visited historical site in Egypt. The term Karnak is often misunderstood to refer solely to the precincts of Amun-Ra, as this is the only part most visitors see.
You will board your flight back to Sharm El Sheikh, then return to your hotel after what we know will be an enjoyable day.
