After the death of the pharaoh, his body was mummified and his mummy was prepared in the Valley Temple, then it was transferred in a large procession to a temple directly next to the pyramid, called the funerary temple. After performing religious rituals on the deceased, he was brought into the coffin chamber and placed in the coffin.
